[Review] G.O.O.D. Music-Cruel Summer

                         Cruel Summer
September 18, 2012 is the date that G.O.O.D Music released their compilation album "Cruel Summer". The highly anticipated, 12 track album has rattled the blogs with a leak a week before the album release. So some people have been bumping Cruel Summer for a little minute and I am one of those people.

In all honesty, I do not like Cruel Summer. Devastated? Well, let me tell you why. The album is 12 songs long and out of those 12, Kanye has released 5 songs. Which leaves 7 songs that have not been released. So which means when I purchase this album, not only am I paying $9.99 (itunes price) for basically 7 songs, I'm also going to be skipping almost half of the album because I've already heard them enough times. Plus I still have a problem with 2 Chainz and Teyana Taylor being apart of this group. I honestly don't feel as though they are talented enough to be apart of it.

Along with the G.O.O.D. Music artist, the group reaches out to Jay-Z, R. Kelly, Jadakiss, Chief Keef, Mase, and that's just to name a few. A group compilation album shouldn't have that many features, but this album proves me all wrong. They have over 6+ features outside of G.O.O.D. Music.

Highlights of the album:

4. New God Flow
Yes it was released way before the album dropped, but Kanye's ac paella version of this song on the BET awards, made this song stand out to me. Plus Pusha T, came in extra hard, his voice just has that rawness needed for the beat of this song.
"Did strippers not build an ark when Yeezy made it rain"-Kanye West

10. Creepers.
Kid Cudi is my favorite artist out the group besides Kanye. Cudi made this beat work for him and only for him. He's lyrically and his voice is very magically.
"If I had one wish, it"ll be to have more wishes"-Kid Cudi

11. Bliss.
I previously stated before that I don't like Teyana Taylor and I still stand beside that. I think if you can get Marsha Ambrosius on an album, you can get her to replace Taylor. John Legend saves the song for me, his voice over the trippy electric-guitar is stupid awesome.

The Ums of the album:

7. Higher.
I don't get why The-Dream is on this track. I don't get the song. I don't like the song. That beat and sample could have been placed on something way better. Pusha T's verse was mediocre to me. I don't get my they even added a piece of 2 Chainz voice. I hate the song

12. Don't Like.
I don't like the fact that this song made the album, especially after Chief Keef tweeted that Kanye didn't help him get on. Now that this album is going to do pretty well, that young ass, ignorant boy is going to reep the rewards from it. I think they should have placed something else on the album.

If you want to support the album, which you should, because I did. Get it from iTunes.
