So right then, I clicked the link and from there it went to her bandcamp. As soon as I pressed play on A Tribe Called Outkast: A Tribute, I was totally amazed.
The first track, "So Fresh, So Clean" started off with her singing without any instruments which added emphasis on her beautiful voice. Very soulful, very delightful, and very refreshing. Then the music chimes in and just another gentle rush of dopeness flows in and there aren't enough adjectives to describe her voice. It's amazing.
The last track (yes, there's just two), "Electronic Relaxation" is just as nice as the previous sound. she takes Outkast and seems to paint a brand new picture that you can see vividly as she sings you each stroke.
Being this is my first time hearing her, I was totally surprised and completely satisfied. My only complaint is the fact that there isn't more songs, but I guess she'll deliver something a little longer real soon.
Press play on the entire project below and enjoy.
The description on her bandcamp:
Interchanging lyrics and melodies through sultry blues-infused vocals, Berkeley newcomer, Xiomara, takes Outkast and ATCQ classics in an entirely new direction.
